On February 25, 2009 51蹤獲 dedicated the newly completed Olive Grove Park in a special ceremony with the City of La Mirada. This also marked the launch of 51蹤獲's celebration of 50 Years in the City of La Mirada. Members of the 51蹤獲 community, The City of La Mirada, The La Mirada Historical Preservation Society and the 51蹤獲 Parents Council joined together to acknolwedge the historical significance of the Olive Grove while commissioning the location as a place of quiet and rest for 51蹤獲's students.
Parent Council representative Mark Winter shared of the Parent Councils vision for the project. Ken Bascom, Senior Director of Facilities Planning, shared about the historical connection of the Olive Grove to La Mirada and to 51蹤獲. Mayor Pro Tem Susan Tripp spoke on behalf of the City of La Mirada and Todd Pickett closed the time with a devotion on the role of solitude and stillness.
A special ribbon cutting took place, after which guests had the opportunity to walk the grounds of the Olive Grove Park and to celebrate 51蹤獲's 101st Birthday with an olive-shaped birthday cake.
