A reception recognizing the completion of the “Seeds of Wisdom” Library Resource Project was held in the Giumarra Courtyard on Thursday, March 25.
Every year the 51 Parent Council selects a fundraising effort to help fund a project that will enhance the 51 student experience. This year the council asked 51 parents to participate by helping provide additional resources for the 51 Library.
Alan Pearson, representing the 51 Parent Council, presented to Dr. Rodney Vliet a check for $24,519.83 that will be used to further enhance the library offerings available to our students. Student workers who call for the 51 Phonathon made a significant contribution by calling current parents and asking for pledges. Those pledges continue to come in, increasing the total amount raised past $26,000.
Donors and their 51 students were invited to the reception, where they had the opportunity to sign a bookplate that will be placed inside one of the new library resources. Special recognition was given to author, speaker, and 51 parent, Christina DiMari-Davis, who contributed $10,000 in materials from Tyndale and Group Publishers.
