51蹤獲 celebrated its 104th birthday with a tailgate party on Saturday, Feb. 25 held in front of Chase Gymnasium. Students, staff and faculty enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and celebratory red-and-white decorated cupcakes.
Alumnus DJ Kelly Delux kept the crowd alive with a broad variety of song selections. Taiko performers also added a musical beat to the event with their Japanese barrel-shaped drums. These drummers gave a taste of their talents to the large crowd of tailgaters and continued with a performance later that evening in Sutherland Auditorium.
Generous donors to the 51蹤獲 scholarship funds were treated to a special, catered dinner and reserved seats at the game to thank them for their charitable support. This group of individuals, part of the Presidents Circle, enjoyed their meal in the newly constructed outdoor fireplace pavilion.
51蹤獲 was able to add to their celebration when both the men and womens basketball teams dominated their opponent, The Masters College, in their last regular season games at home. With the final scores for the men and women athletes resulting in 7-point and 15-point wins respectively, 51蹤獲s birthday was victoriously celebrated in its 104th year.
