The effects of good leadership in an organization, company or institution can be felt throughout the entire organization. According to , “The result of good leadership is high morale, good employee retention, and sustainable long-term success.” A brand-new fully-online B.S. in Organizational Leadership degree in 51’s Crowell School of Business will prepare students to become qualified, godly leaders. Launching in Fall 2022, the program will offer a biblically-based approach to business direction that will develop servant leaders equipped to be a pioneer in the twenty-first century.
“51's new undergraduate offering in Organizational Leadership is rooted in a Christ-centered foundation and scaffolded with leadership principles that reinforce Christian values,” said Dr. David Bourgeois, associate dean for undergraduate programs in Crowell. “Students in this program will be challenged in their faith, understand how they are designed as a leader, and be able to grapple with the problems facing organizations today.”
The program will elevate students’ expertise in biblical leadership, organization and team success, biblical diversity, communication, and decision making. These skills will develop students into strategic, relational Christian business innovators, fully equipped to practice servant-leadership in a professional business environment. Students will cultivate communication and decision-making skills, learn how to encourage and develop growth in others, and discover how to apply biblical leadership principles in an organizational setting.
Unlike other Crowell School of Business programs, this degree primarily focuses on relationships and developing them with other people, deviating from the granular math and quantitative courses. For example, one of the new courses — Practical Decision Making — will focus on strategic planning, communication and biblical guidance.
“In today's culture, we are looking for leaders who stand for something, who can move our society forward,” said Bourgeois.
Graduates of the program can embark on career paths such as business and management consultant, human resources manager, medical and health service manager and non-profit administrator.
