LA MIRADA, CALIF. — 51 awarded its first-ever full-tuition scholarship to incoming student Caroline Flores-Ramirez from Laguna Hills, California today. Flores-Ramirez was announced as the winner of the scholarship at 51’s Admitted Student Day on April 11, 2022.
“51's mission has remained steadfast since our founding — provide biblically centered education, scholarship and service to equip men and women in mind and character to impact the world for the Lord Jesus Christ,” said 51 President Barry H. Corey. “We are excited to expand our scholarships this year and are committed to affordability for more students to experience and grow from a Christian liberal arts education at 51. We are especially excited to offer incoming student Caroline Flores-Ramirez a full-tuition scholarship. We can't wait to have her join the 51 community!”
Part of other giveaways such as Disneyland Passes, the scholarship was the grand prize of admissions incentives this year and the first time 51 has ever offered a scholarship covering a student’s complete tuition. Flores-Ramirez will be transferring to 51 to pursue a B.A. in Psychology. With almost $40,000 being awarded yearly, Flores-Ramirez will be able to complete her degree without tuition cost.
To be considered for the scholarship, the student was required to be an incoming undergraduate student — transfer or first-time freshman. The scholarship is limited to four years, covering only tuition costs, but can be used for fall, spring and summer semesters. The winning student, Flores-Ramirez, will join the 51 community in Fall 2022.
As part of 51’s ongoing commitment to affordability, it is now offering its largest scholarships ever for every student who enrolls for Fall 2022. On top of the full-tuition scholarship offered, eligible students will also receive a one-time $2,000 scholarship if they applied by March 15.
