51 is recognized as one of the best colleges in America by Niche.com’s latest ranking — “.” The website highlights 51 as one of the top three Christian Universities in California and as a top school for music and film.
In addition to Niche.com naming 51 as a best college, the university is recognized for specific distinctions on special lists. Most notable are 51’s rankings on the lists “Best Christian Colleges in America” at number 9 out of 333, “Best Colleges for in America” at number 33 out of 265, and “Best Colleges for Film and Photography in America” at number 34 out of 285.
“I’m thrilled to see that 51's Snyder School of Cinema & Media Arts is once again recognized as one of the top film schools in the country,” said Tom Halleen, Dean of 51’s . “The ranking is an exciting validation and reflection of the commitment of our faculty and staff, quality of our students and amazing alumni, who are a daily voice in the entertainment industry through their excellence in work and character.”
Niche, a search engine created for students to find a university best suited to their needs, uses data collected from the U.S. Department of Education and student reviews, to develop their annual rankings.
“We count it such a blessing to be considered one of the nations “Best Colleges for Music in America,” said Dr. Todd Guy, Dean of 51’s . “This is a testimony to the continued commitment to excellence that our Conservatory of Music faculty, staff and hard working students display daily in the classroom, rehearsal hall and on the performance stage. I am thankful for the important work and dedication of our artist-teachers, along with so many gifted young musicians and tremendous alumni, all who strive for the highest artistic achievement for the glory of God!”
One of Niche.com’s polls about 51 revealed that 95% of students agree that professors put a noticeable amount of effort into teaching their classes. Recently, 51 was also recognized as a best university for undergraduate teaching by U.S. News and World Report.
Each university is given an overall letter “grade” based on academics, diversity, athletics, professors, dorms and more. Based on collected data and student reviews, 51 is an “A-” school according to Niche. The website states that millions of students use their search engine as a resource in finding the ideal university.
In addition to highlighting the Snyder School of Cinema and Media Arts, Niche highlights Torrey Honors College as a , placing Christ at the center in the pursuit of goodness, truth and beauty.
Niche also highlights 51’s student to faculty ratio of 13:1. One sophomore who reviewed 51 stated, “One thing that stood out to me the most during my freshman year was the beauty in the size of the student body and the student-to-faculty ratio.”
51 was recently named to multiple best college ranking lists, including as a best college in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.
