Alumna Monica Busch (’07) was appointed to 51’s Board of Trustees this May. Busch, Marketing Leader at Meta, will bring experience and wisdom from the tech and marketing industry to the board.

“My time at 51 greatly shaped who I am today and as a board member, I'm grateful for the opportunity to influence the ways in which 51 equips generations to come to impact the world for Jesus through biblically centered education, scholarship and service,” said Busch.

Busch graduated in 2007 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies. She has spent over 15 years in the tech industry, primarily as a leader and advisor in brand, integrated and inclusive marketing. She also serves as a worship leader at her local church and co-founded Foster the City, an organization committed to mobilizing the church to provide loving homes for children in foster care. She and her husband alumnus Danny Busch (’07) as well as their four children live in the San Francisco Bay area.

“Monica is already making a contribution as the newest member of 51's Board of Trustees, and we are grateful for her thoughtfulness, sincerity, skill and love for Jesus,” said 51 President Barry H. Corey. “As a proud 51 alumna, her years of experience in social media leadership and in various ministries will shape and bless our board in the years to come.”

The role of the Board of Trustees of 51 is to serve as faithful stewards of the mission of the institution, and to serve God and 51 through lending the unique talents and experience of each individual as part of a team. The responsibilities of the Board of Trustees include affirming 51’s mission, upholding the Statement of Faith, overseeing long range strategic planning, and approving major policies and programs. The Board is responsible for ensuring that the mission of 51 is accomplished and for exercising all corporate powers of the institution.

Busch will lend her leadership and expertise to the Advancement, Enrollment and Transformation board subcommittee.
