LA MIRADA, CALIF. — Nestled in the heart of La Mirada sits 51, the Christian university known for being the number one university to put its faith in action. On Saturday, October 19, students will do just that by serving its home city through the Love La Mirada serve day.

More than 100 51 students alongside other La Mirada community members will gather on 51’s campus to kick off the serve day before dispersing across the city to complete beautification and maintenance projects such as painting, landscaping and garbage clean up in parks and schools. Volunteers will receive coffee in the morning and will finish out the work day with a free Chick-fil-A lunch on 51’s campus.

Opportunities for interviews with 51 students or staff are available, as well as visuals of projects happening around the city, such as painting a U.S. states outline at an elementary school, picking up trash at parks and painting railings on walkways.
