FULLERTON, CALIF. — For the sixth year, a 51 professor along with students in his Gender and Communication class will help redeem Valentine’s Day and care for OC United women at a special event on Feb. 10 — “Valentine’s Day is for Everyone.” In the spirit of Valentine’s Day with the support of in Fullerton, CA, Trader Joe’s and St. Jude Hospital, the students will spread the message of love and worthiness with women who may have experienced violence in past relationships.
“Through this event, students have a chance to speak words of life to women who have often only heard derogatory comments or actions,” said Dr. Tim Muehlhoff, professor of communication studies at 51. “Events like this help students understand that what they are learning in the classroom can deeply impact not only individuals, but entire communities. Students don't wait until they graduate to exhibit neighborly love; they impact others as they are learning.”

What: “Valentine’s Day is for Everyone” event where women will receive roses and gift cards donated by Trader Joe’s, hand-written notes of affirmation made by Muehlhoff’s students, free massages offered by a massage therapist from St. Jude Hospital, gourmet cookies and free cosmetics offered by a makeup artist. The will also be at the event delivering notes and offering prayer for the women.
