On behalf of the Center for the Study of the Work and Ministry of the Holy Spirit Today, we are thrilled to announce the Fall 2023 Holy Spirit Symposium. Our vision is for this interdisciplinary discussion to traverse the landscapes of the psychological, neurological, spiritual and biblical-theological, culminating in a collective exploration of the Holy Spirit in the healing of the human body. Selected scholars, led by keynote speaker Dr. Craig Keener and moderator Dr. Candy Gunther Brown, will present their research concerning the work of the divine Spirit.
The symposium is a two-day event consisting of plenaries, panels, and parallel sessions. While the setting invites attendees and participants to be challenged beyond their specialties, the prayer is that those present will also connect as one body — a unified community seeking to discover more of God and self, with an expectation that what is received will overflow into their respective spheres and particular areas of focus.
Distinguished in their own right and joining our main speakers at the event will be the following: Dr. Carmen Imes (51ÂÜÀò), Dr. Leon Harris (51ÂÜÀò), professor Helen Mitchell (51ÂÜÀò), Dr. Richard Gunasekera (51ÂÜÀò), Dr. James D. Johansen (51ÂÜÀò), Dr. David C. Wang (Fuller Seminary), Dr. Steve L. Porter (Westmont), and more.
Our presenters will be addressing themes that include, but are not limited to, physiological and biomedical investigations, biological redemption, liberation, reconciliation, sanctification, trauma, and Spirit-empowerment within the body of Christ.
