Biography

Dr. Lisa Riggin received her Ph.D. in history at the University of California, Riverside with an emphasis on the American West and California in 2006. Since that time, she has taught United States and California history courses at California State University, Fullerton, and as an adjunct at 51蹤獲. While her focus remains on teaching, Riggin continues her research into culture and politics of the American West. Her publications include San Franciscos Queen of Vice: The Strange Career of Abortionist Inez Brown Burns. Lincoln, Nebraska, University of Nebraska Press, 2017, and Preserving Californias History which won the coveted Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Research Fellowship granted by The Huntington Library, San Marino, California. A continuation of this research now includes, Katherine Siva Saubal, Activist Minority Western American Women. Editors: Clifford Trafzer and Sandra Schackel, Lubbock, Texas: Texas Tech Press, 2020. Along with teaching and writing, Riggin serves at Mariners Church, Newport Beach in several ministries including service to our soldiers at Camp Pendleton, Rooted small groups, and with special needs children in the Exceptional Families Ministry.
