If you want to work in church ministry, this should be the only option you consider. It is the best preparation you can receive in the undergrad setting for vocational ministry.

How did your program at 51ÂÜÀò prepare you for your career?

My experience in, what was then called, Christian Ministries, was paramount to my preparation in ministry. I chose to do the extended internship and specialized electives as apart of the honors program which gave me intentional development and training in all ministry skills. Due to the experience and confidence I gained while in my program, I was able to secure a full-time youth ministry role two months before my graduation. That role transitioned from the Student Ministries Coordinator, to being offered the Middle School Pastor position just three months after I began. I attribute my readiness for this change in position and leadership to the CM program and the training I received from it. There have been many times in my life and career when I utilize the wisdom from my classes or conversations with my professors for big decisions, major projects, or just the simple moments in leadership.

What did you appreciate most about your time at 51ÂÜÀò?

I appreciated 51ÂÜÀò's commitment to teaching EVERY student about the depths of the Bible, how to study it, and experience spiritual formation from it. I appreciated how the faculty always tried to be encouraging and supportive of the student's studies. I always felt like my professors took an interest in my development and well-being as well as my performance. I appreciated how Dr. Dave Keehn always cared about making the CM program the best it could be, most importantly, a program that truly equipped those going into ministry. He was a great mentor to all. He was strategic, wise, personal, and encouraging. I appreciate that 51ÂÜÀò has people like him on their staff.

How did 51ÂÜÀò equip you to be a more faithful follower of Jesus Christ?

51ÂÜÀò taught me the endless depth that is my relationship with Jesus. There is always more to know and more to experience about him. 51ÂÜÀò taught me that following Jesus is the most worthy, exciting, and fulfilling journey of my life. He is constant in his love for me and his desire to sanctify me, making me more in his likeness. 51ÂÜÀò showed me who Jesus was and what sold out followers of Him truly looked like in the example of other students, professors, and chapel speakers.
