Charrise Reece scored 16 points and was one of five starters in double-figures as 51ÂÜÀò pulled off its second-straight upset over an NAIA Top 10 team, defeating No. 10 Langston University (Okla.) 73-58 at the 2012 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Championships to advance to the NAIA Quarterfinals for the first time in program history.

The Eagles continue their impressive run, winning 11 of their last 13 games overall and improving to 23-10 on the season. 51ÂÜÀò--which had one just one game in seven previous NAIA tournament appearances--moves into the round of eight for the first time in program history, facing No. 2 Union University (Tenn.) on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. PT).

The victory was the second straight win by the Eagles over a Top 10 team and the second one over a team with a 30-3 record.

Langston came into the game ranked fifth in the NAIA in scoring, averaging 79.5 points per game. However, the Eagles' defense was up to the task, holding the Lady Lions to just 31.3% shooting and its third-lowest point total of the season. 51ÂÜÀò's defense ranked eighth in scoring defense this season, allowing just over 54 points per game.

Reece continued her hot play in her fourth tournament appearance in as many years, pouring in 16 points thanks in large part to 4-for-5 shooting from three-point range. Chelsea Hill and Adijat Adams each scored 13 points with Adams also pulling down seven rebounds and recording three steals in 19 minutes.

Emily Drews contributed 12 points and had a solid second half with Lauren Gustafson contributing 10 points.

51ÂÜÀò led the game from start to finish, leading by as many as 16 points in the second half and fighting off each offensive charge by Langston.

The Eagles opened the game with back-to-back buckets by Adijat Adams to take the early 4-0 lead. A few minutes later, Adams hit a three-pointer followed by a bucket by Adams and a three-pointer by Freet to make it a 23-12 51ÂÜÀò lead nine minutes into the game.

One minute later, Becca DeVere's free throws would make it a 13-point advantage at the midway point of the period. Langston started to rally, using a 12-3 run to make it a 29-26 contest with 6:57 left in half. Still up by three one minute later, 51ÂÜÀò pulled away again, going on a 9-2 run over the next four minutes with Reece draining a three-pointer to make it 40-30 with 1:16 left. The Lions would get a three-point play with six seconds left but 51ÂÜÀò led 40-33 at the break.

51ÂÜÀò opened the second half with six-straight points--four from Drews--to quick take the lead up to 13 at 46-33. Langston responded with a short run to pull back to within eight at 49-41 six minutes later, but could not get any closer as the Eagles scored seven-straight including a three-pointer by Gustafson and a great dish by the senior guard to Adams to make it a 56-41 51ÂÜÀò lead.

The Eagles would answer each bucket by the Lions the rest of the way, not letting Langston get closer than 11 over the final 10 minutes of the game, cruising to the 15-points victory.

51ÂÜÀò hit 45.5% in the game, giving them a 48.5% combined shooting percentage in its two tournament games thus far. That's a full 10 percentage points better than its season average of 37.5% coming into the tournament.

Reece adds to her career point total, giving her 1,016 points for her career. The senior reached the 1,000 point plateau with 15 points in the first game of the tournament. She also had five assists to extend her school-record to 505 and needs just three steals to reach 300.

Coach Bethany Miller shares her thoughts on the team's performance.
