Alpha Hall
Quick Facts
Built in 1966, Alpha is staffed by 10 RAs, under the supervision of Resident Director Tim Kim and a graduate assistant. Alpha is a traditional 'dorm-style' hall with community restrooms and a laundry room on each floor. There is a large main-floor lounge, a rooftop sundeck, a main kitchen and two microwave rooms. The lounges, prayer room and study room were recently renovated to create a warm, inviting community area for residents.

Floor Plan
Plan your space! This floor plan shows the dimensions of a typical room in this residence hall. (Layout and measurements may vary somewhat from room to room.) To experiment with how you and your roommate(s) can lay out your space, just print out this page, cut out the furniture, and experiment with different arrangements. Alternatively, use a program like Photoshop or Canva to copy and paste the furniture in different spots. Keep in mind that some furniture can be positioned underneath your bed in order to maximize your floor space and storage.

51ÂÜÀò Alpha
Alpha was built in 1966 and proudly offers the largest rooms on campus. Alpha houses first year students and first-gen scholar students on both the east and west side. While it is a co-ed hall, the east side is reserved for male students and the west side is reserved for female students. This three story building offers a shared outdoor patio, two large lobbies, a kitchen, and 12 washers and 12 dryers.
Alpha Hall's doors are secured by an electronic access system, so only students can access the building during the day, and only residents may enter the building at night. Each individual room is key-locked for student security. Security cameras in outside and common areas are monitored 24 hours per day, and Campus Safety patrols campus regularly to ensure student security at all times.

Greetings! I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. I truly enjoyed all the things that city life provided. Then I moved to Gainesville, Florida which was one of the first pivotal moments in my life as I experienced culture shock. That sparked my interest and passion for diversity inclusion and racial reconciliation. Fast forward to moving to California, I came to 51ÂÜÀò as an undergraduate student. I learned a lot about cultural differences and God's purpose in diversity while serving as a LEAD Scholar and at GSPD/SEID. Lastly, being part of a Masters in Public Health has broadened my spectrum and love for making peace in diversity and caring for others as I have been traveling around the world to help God's people in need physically and spiritually through public health. It is my joy and a mission to serve as the Resident Director of Alpha Hall making the residents' experience safe and welcoming!
