Emergency Procedures

In Case of Emergency

  • On-Campus Emergencies: (562) 777-4000 (or from campus phone, ext. 5111)
  • Off-Campus Emergencies: Dial 911

    If there is no immediate danger to persons or property but someone should be notified of a problem, you may wish to contact the RD-on-Call. Please contact the University Operator at ext. 0 (zero); the RD-on-Call will return your call within 10 minutes.

    If the situation escalates and you cannot wait for the return call from the RD-on-Call, call Campus Safety emergency at (562) 777-4000 (or from campus phone, ext. 5111).

    If the situation is less critical, you can contact the Dean of Students' office at 562-943-0351 ext. 5842 during regular business hours (Mon–Fri, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.).

    Emergency Notifications

    • Students may update personal emergency notification contact methods on MyAccount to receive e-mail, text and phone emergency notifications. A designation will remain in effect until changed or revoked by the student, and will not be disclosed except to appropriate university officials and/or law enforcement personnel as necessary during an emergency or the investigation of a crime.

    Medical Emergencies

    In case of Medical Emergency, please call 51ÂÜÀò Campus Safety Emergency: (562) 777-4000 (or x5111 from campus phone) to reach the Student Health Center (during daytime hours) or receive medical help after hours. Further information may be obtained at biola.edu/campus-safety/emergency-after-hours.

    Missing Students

    1. Students may provide a confidential contact to be notified within 24 hours if they are ever determined to be missing. The confidential contact information may be provided when filling out the Housing Application (students will be provided with this option on an annual basis). To update confidential contact information at any other time, students may contact the Housing & Residence Life Office. This information will be maintained confidentially and will be accessible only to authorized university officials, and will not be disclosed to any other individuals except to law enforcement personnel as necessary for a missing student investigation.
    2. In the event a student who is under the age of 18 and is not legally emancipated is determined to be missing pursuant to the procedures set forth in the university’s Missing Student Policy, the university is required to notify a custodial parent or guardian, in addition to the student’s designated confidential contact, no more than 24 hours after the student is determined to be missing.
