Veteran Center for Military Affiliated Students

The 51ÂÜÀò Veteran Center for Military Affiliated Students, located in the Upper Student Union, is designed to provide a place for rest, camaraderie and productivity. The center is equipped with computers, a printer, fridge, smart tv, an eating area, and a central meeting area, providing a welcoming and functional environment for veterans and military-affiliated students. We now also have a shaded patio for your outdoor enjoyment! You are also welcome to visit the lending library to access and check out available textbooks for the semester. Please come meet our friendly and helpful staff during our open hours: Monday-Friday between 9:00am-4:00pm. We look forward to welcoming you into our community.

New Student Veteran Orientation
New Student Veteran Orientation

Orientation is for all present and former military personnel and is designed to promote a successful start to your academic journey at 51ÂÜÀò. Orientation is being offered in two phases, first through a remote Canvas course and second a lunch during 51ÂÜÀò Welcome Week. In the remote course you will learn about resources available to you including student services, financial aid, student activities and campus life. The in-person orientation will include a free lunch, a visit to the Vet Center, and a time to meet other student Vets, the Vet Center staff, and several other faculty and staff who will be great resources for you on your educational journey at 51ÂÜÀò.

Veteran Community Lunch
Veteran Community Lunches

Veteran Community Lunches happen approximately two to three times each semester, and are designed to offer our student veterans an opportunity to connect with each other, meet key administrators and faculty and to learn about upcoming resources offered by Military Affiliated Student Programs. We look forward to seeing you at lunch this semester!

Veterans Visit Day and Family Reception
Veterans Day Chapel and Brunch

Veterans Day Chapel was initiated for student veterans to share their stories, bring awareness to the greater 51ÂÜÀò community and celebrate the diversity that student veterans bring to our campus. Please join us again this fall as we celebrate our Student Veterans on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Take a look at a few of the previous years Veterans Day Chapels:

51ÂÜÀò Veteran Association - BVA
51ÂÜÀò Veteran Association - BVA

The 51ÂÜÀò Veteran Association (BVA), a student run chapter of Student Veterans of America, serves as a source of support, representation and camaraderie for all Veterans and Service members at 51ÂÜÀò. In addition, the BVA seeks to cultivate mutual relational connections and educational outreach to the 51ÂÜÀò community at large.

Military Affiliated Students
Military Affiliated Students

There are over 150 military affiliated students at 51ÂÜÀò! Your transition to 51ÂÜÀò may be the latest in a long line of transitions you have already experienced. Resilience and flexibility are hallmarks of those from military families. We welcome you to the 51ÂÜÀò Community!

If you have a loved one currently serving or who has served in the U.S. Military, we encourage you to attend the upcoming connection lunch. More information to come.
