Policies

State Authorization

As of 11/14/2024

Federal and State regulations require that all institutions obtain the necessary authorizations and/or approvals from a state in order to conduct what are called interstate activities. Examples of interstate activities include, but are not limited to: online courses, field placements such as for-credit internships, practicums, clinical requirements, recruiting and advertising, and out-of-state employees. Holding such state authorization allows 51蹤獲 and other institutions to conduct these activities outside of our home states. 51蹤獲 is physically located in the state of California and welcomes online degree or certificate applications from prospective students who are residents in most states within the United States. However, applications from students physically residing in the following states while completing their online courses cannot be considered at this time: Alabama, Arkansas (refer to All State Listing for specific program exemptions), Delaware, District of Columbia, Kansas, Kentucky (refer to All State Listing for specific program exemptions), Maryland, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina (refer to All State Listing for specific program exemptions), Rhode Island and Wisconsin (refer to All State Listing for specific program exemptions). Different pathways to licensure may be possible, but are not guaranteed, in some "does not meet" states/territories for some license types. These pathways may include, but are not limited to, reciprocity, licensure compacts, or national certification. Therefore, prospective students interested in a program that leads to licensure are highly encouraged to contact the licensing agency or organization and research the educational requirements prior to starting a program. At 51蹤獲 we are committed to helping students explore available options in their academic plan, so we also recommend prospective and current students to contact the program department for additional information.

Should attempts to resolve these problems with appropriate school officials fail, or should the student be dissatisfied with the final outcome of the college complaint process, then the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC), can respond to a formal complaint.
