Minor in Elementary Education
Overview
The Elementary Education minor, consisting of 18 credits, allows you to complete the majority of the requirements for earning a California Multiple Subject Preliminary Teaching Credential to teach in an elementary school classroom, and finish at the graduate level. After completion of all credential requirements, you will be formally recommended for your California Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. You can also receive your while earning your California preliminary teaching credential by meeting additional requirements.
It is important to note that the Multiple Subject Credential is primarily appropriate for elementary school teachers, but can sometimes be appropriate for middle school or high school teachers.

Curriculum Requirements
Candidates must complete 21 credits to qualify for an Elementary Education minor.
The Elementary Education minor meets the majority of requirements for the California Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. See the Professional Teacher Preparation section of the catalog under the program. Students must consult with an advisor in the School of Education.
