Students attend the Sundance Film Festival In Park City, Utah. As a , Snyder students obtain access to screenings, filmmakers and industry workshops. As a Partner, students engage with over 100 Christian filmmakers from around the world on faith, film and culture. Sundance attendee, Sydney Patapoff, Directors Guild of America Member, Class of 2009 has this to say about Sundance:
Sundance was an enriching experience that opened my eyes not just to great, independent films, but to the business of filmmaking as a whole. In Focus Forums
Designed to spark candid conversations, creativity and inspiration, the In Focus Forums are workshops and events held every semester that bring top industry professionals to our cinema and media arts students. Forums are held both on campus and on studio lots such as CBS Studios. The vision of the In Focus Forums is for students to walk away from each event not only feeling encouraged and inspired, but armed with a tangible game plan to push their artistry, career and faith forward.
51蹤獲 Screenings
51蹤獲's Snyder School of Cinema & Media Arts holds multiple screenings every semester followed by Q and As with filmmakers and/or cast and crew. From large theatrical releases like Hacksaw Ridge and Sinister, to award winning documentaries, independent films and alumni work, 51蹤獲 Screenings are an important way we inspire students to tell stories that make an impact.
The 558 Network
The 558 Alumni Network is a professional association for alumni of 51蹤獲 in the entertainment & creative industries. Our members work in film, television, music, theater, photography, video games, design, advertising, brand management, interactive, new media and other related fields. Seniors are invited to participate in 558 activities to help guide their transition from college to career.
Internships
Internships are crucial when stepping into the entertainment industry, which is why we have placed a high priority on internships for our students. Snyder majors are required to intern once and are strongly encouraged to have at least two internships while completing the program. With our proximity to the heart of the entertainment industry, our students have great access to internships at some of the largest and most influential studios and production companies. Studio Task Force
Guerrilla Film Festival
The Guerrilla Student Film Festival (formerly known as the 51蹤獲 Film Festival) is an annual film festival and awards ceremony run by and for 51蹤獲 students. Every year, the festival seeks to recognize and reward all of the outstanding films and projects created by students of every year through fun and fellowship. Our events span a weekend full of screenings and gatherings.
Snyder School of Cinema & Media Arts Chapel
Snyder students and faculty meet monthly for a unique time of worship, fellowship and exploration of the abilities and call God has granted to us and others. A wide range of special guests and experiences makes this family time an essential part of our growth as an artistic community.
Student Clubs
The Snyder School of Cinema & Media Arts offers student clubs based on interests, passions, and pursuits. Each club allows students to interact outside of the classroom setting to discuss films, evaluate each other's work, and collaborate on each other projects.
Torrey Honors College
Torrey Honors College is 51蹤獲's undergraduate honors program. Torrey Honors is distinct for its small, discussion-only classes and one-on-one faculty mentoring. The program will replace most of your general education classes, giving you the opportunity to read and discuss hundreds of classic works to fuel your imagination and refine your storytelling.
