NCF, as a ministry of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, exists to help nurses and students bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the nursing profession. We encourage to explore their website and consider joining.
African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American and Filipinos comprise roughly 10% of the overall nursing population. In the nineties, the number increased at a faster rate (19.1%) than the number of all registered nurses (14.2%).* Also, thanks to an aging population and an increase in healthcare technology, there will be an estimated 3.1 million new healthcare jobs by 2006, allowing even more room for growth. Minority Nurse provides resources and information pertaining to education, career development and minority health for the growing population of minority nurses in America.
The Journal of Christian Nursing strives to help Christian nurses view nursing practice through the eyes of faith. It is a professional journal by and for nurses. Topics covered include Christian concepts in nursing, professional issues, spiritual care, ethics, values, healing and wholeness, psychology and religion, personal and professional life, patient/client experiences which include a faith dimension, case studies and stories of nurses who have stepped out in faith to care for others in new or unusual ways in the U.S. or overseas.
